Hobert "Hobbie" M. McCreary, Jr., came to Oak Hill Baptist Church in August 2024. He previously pastored two churches in Kingsport, Tennessee, one in Johnson City, Tennessee, and one in Fall Branch, Tennessee. Hobbie accepted Christ as Savior when he was ten years old at Hopewell Baptist Church, Cleveland, Tennessee and is the son of a Baptist minister. Hobbie graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BBA in Accounting, where he was a member of the Buccaneer basketball team, and he earned a Master of Theology from Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary. Before pastoring, he sang with a Southern Gospel quarter for ten years. Hobbie married to his college sweetheart, Kathy, having just celebrated their 43rd anniversary. They have two precious daughters, Ashton, who is married to Landon Davis, and Heather. They have two granddaughters and one grandson who love their Poppy. Hobbie enjoys basketball, fishing, hiking, woodworking, reading, playing the guitar, singing, writing music, attending ETSU football games, and ministry.
